Aascar Ravichandran is one such versatile producer who gives no importance to the star-values, but for good stories. Churning out year’s best film Dasavatharam, he is so elated taking up the films with no A-rated star casts and it’s for the good theme. ‘Ananda Thandavam’ falls under this genre.
Followed by grand success of Vishal-Bharath starrer ‘Chellamae’, Director Gandhi Krishna wields megaphone for this flick. As known to everyone, it is inspired by late veteran novelist Sujatha’s ‘Pirivoam Sandhipoam’. Thanks to Director for he hasn’t left out the credits of Sujatha as one of our leading director in Kollywood had done so.
The film starts with a narration by protagonist Ragupathi (Siddarth), an engineering graduate on the pursuit of right job. He shares a close bonding with his lovable father as a very close friend. He get frustrated with his unemployment crisis and then amidst of it, he meets Madhumitha (Thamannah). Beguiled by her enchanting looks and childlike innocence, he falls in love with her and her too. Nevertheless, Ragupathi’s father doesn’t want his son to carry on with his relationship and in contrast goes Madhumitha’s parents. They receive him well and indeed share good relationship…
But his dreams are shattered once the antagonist Radhakrishnan (C. Rishi) arrives from United States and sweeps the family off its feet. The girl’s parents change their mind overnight and quickly arrange a marriage between Madhumitha and Radhakrishnan. The marriage takes place.
Broken down into pieces, Raghu is unable to overcome this turmoil and fleets to USA for a management course. Over there, his life transcends into a well-light brightness as he meets Rathna (Rukmani) and a good relationship blossoms between them.
Rathna is a girl who gives more value to the eastern cultural ethics despites her life settled in USA. She wants to get settled in India and they decide to marry at Pittsburgh Hindu Temple.
Well, everything doesn’t happen as you expect and here goes triangular love story…
